Not even six months, the EOS 1000, no communication with all attached lenses. I changed the battery and memory card, pencil, graphite contacts.
It seems that needs repair, simply let the camera bag to take an image and it directly yet, I have tried so carefully from the first day, the UV filter and screen protectors made of plastic.
I am disappointed that my 25 years has, Nikon FA, it never failed to beat, has survived the extreme conditions in recent years, the humidity drops cliffs, beaches and sterilize the salt.
I will wait for mistakes such as with a DSLR camera, but not really threatened in any way. I love this camera, I am not happy with it but now. Do I need two bodies, which are always in the shop for repairs?

Okay, well the problem of the lens. Restoring the original configuration would be worth a try. It would be better if it updated firmware for your model? You will probably be looking back to Canon.
There are lemons, for sure. My first Canon 40D has a "Err99" after a few thousand shows launched. I have tried to clean the contacts and everything. Finally, I concluded that only occurs when the shutter was triggered by that would be a bad idea.
Off topic is FYI - Err99 "Canon Catch All" error. This means, more or less "something wrong" and no more specific than that.
